A. I shall explain the basic fundamental of jnana yoga... the straight path to God Almighty! In Hinduism we have karma yoga, Bhakti yoga and finally jnana yoga. Every human being until reaching the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in the initial stages indulges in karma yoga and Bhakti yoga! It is only through the process of karma yoga... life moves ahead in the cosmic system. It is inevitable! For each and every individual human being... there is no escape from karma yoga! The path of Bhakti yoga... is the path of rituals. Singing praise of God almighty... engaging in bhajans, kirtans... is indulging on the path of Bhakti yoga! To reach God Almighty... to reach the stage of enlightenment... traveling the path of jnana yoga is… [cont.]

Q. Ramana Maharshi said always to enquire "Who am I?". Is it all one has to do to become a Jnani? Is Jnana a Flash of revelation or a long process of continuous enquiry? Yes, Shanky answer is convincing for me.

A. Its continuous and ongoing process in which one is always alert with razor-sharp awareness (inquiry mode), which helps us to understand what we are with the help of process of elimination. When it happens it happens in a flash. It's like each strike of hammer, makes the rock progressively weak and finally it suddenly, in a flash, breaks off.

A. hello, whatever stay_fan said is not true..at least the yoga part of it. yoga has been handed down since time immemorial by rishis(saints). without proper guidance by a practised person, u can land in trouble doin yoga. so be careful about it. well, in india, yoga is an art lost and found. though its importance diminished over the last few decades ppl today are taking greater interest in yoga ,( not only the middle aged ones but also the youth, ...me and my mom both do it) this is in wake of the increased health consciousness and the need for a stress buster. medidation usually goes hand in hand with yoga. hope that helps.

Why do Buddhists reject Santa when Buddha himself believed in Santa's powers?
Q. Buddhist literature says it's possible for skilled meditators to: 1. Fly through the air and walk through walls (Raddi-saksatkriya). 2. Read other people's minds (Paracitta-jnana). 3. Instantly view any material thing anywhere (Divyacaksus) Taking the above into account, shouldn't the concept of Santa make sense to Buddhists? Maybe Santa's just a really good meditator. Nirvana- Buddha never mentioned Santa. But Santa possesses all of the powers Buddha said are real. no2...- I didn't say people can fly and walk through walls- Buddha did. If anyone's p**sed off, it shouldn't be against me for pointing out this fairytale land Buddha considered reality. Chica- maybe Santa levitates and brings the reindeers with him. In the sacred Jataka… [cont.]

A. Now Santa is benevolent and accepts multiple viewpoints, and is very forgiving (no one ever really gets the coal). And conspicuously rotund. I have it! Buddha IS Santa!!! (and he "meditates" the reindeer and the sleigh. its all just for show) (and of course the "going thru walls " would cover "going down the chimney")

Although these four great sages were older than Brahma's other sons like Marici, they appeared like small naked children only five or six years old.Lord Siva incarnated himself in the form of Dakshinamurti to impart knowledge to the four Kumaras. These are Hindu deities believed to have appeared in the beginning of creation, and are specifically empowered to distribute transcendental knowledge.
