I guess my reason why is that if we're constantly wondering about what's going to get us into heaven or keep us from it, we're not really focusing on the right thing, per se. We're not focusing on Jesus. Just focus on Jesus and hand over all your troubles to Him. He'll lead you from there, whether you know it's happening or not. And the way that could help us to is to think about the Law of Love set down by Jesus - you shall love your neighbor as yourself - instead of canon law or whatever. This is the way Jesus completed the Law, and if we're following this law, then we don't have to worry about the Jewish law. (It was for the Jews, anyway!) We'd be free.
